How AICA works
AICA is also known as acadesine, and it is used as an AMPK activator. AICA is a form of synthetic adenosine monophosphate (AMP). The way it works is that when the cells in the body are deprived of energy, AMP starts to accumulate. Its accumulation triggers the activation of AMPK. When AMPK is activated, fatty acids in the body are then converted to fuel sources to be used by cells. The AICAR substance activates AMPK, which in turn means the body will start burning fatty acids to fuel cells.
In addition to activating AMPK, AICAR has also shown capabilities of revitalizing ageing cells in the body. The substance also plays a major role in enhancing the production of mitochondrial in the body.
